How to get Indian Passport for Infant born in UAE

Process to Follow
Passport is issued from Indian Embassy in UAE. As of the current rule, infants born in UAE have a stay back period of 120 days under which baby must have valid visa in order to continue the stay in UAE. If the baby is not planning to stay in UAE, once the passport is ready, they can exit the country without applying for the VISA. For those who are residing in Abu Dhabi, documents can be submitted through BLS International which is located in Hamdan Street. Baby and Mother need to be physically present at the BLS office to apply for the passport. The purpose is to get the thumb impression of the baby, same will be appearing on baby's passport. (In rare cases where baby is admitted in the hospital, BLS officials will visit the hospital in order to collect the necessary details upon request).

Documents Required
  • Parents Passport (original)
  • Baby's photo in white back ground, 3 copies (eyes opened, 2X2 size, better to avoid white clothes in photo)
  • Passport application form duly filled (Either can be obtained from BLS office or from any nearby typing centre)
  • Company's letter or Tenancy contract
Once the above documents are ready, application can be submitted at BLS office. There are two options, one is regular service that will take 5-6 working days and second one is Tatkal service that will take 2-3 working days. Application fee for regular service is 337 AED and for Tatkal it is 907 AED. Passport will be delivered through courier from Indian embassy to the residence address which is mentioned in the passport application form.
